Our name says it all – we are a team of "in House" specialized and passionate professionals, who design and build solutions tailored to your needs, based on your vision, lifestyle and budget. From start to finish, your personal project consultant and project manager will be there for you to answer any questions and are accountable to you for all the details.
We tailor fit the right team to your project. A kitchen renovation requires a different team, than renovating a whole condo. And likewise an exterior upgrade, requires a different team than renovating or rebuilding a whole home.
The entire Renovations process can be overwhelming and stressful, but it doesn't have to be. Working with a detailed contract, a team that looks out for your best interests, and open communication throughout the process will all help make this a rewarding experience.

We begin your Renovation Experience by sitting down for a cup of coffee or tea, and listening to your needs, wants and dream ideas. This includes examining your existing space and lifestyle. What are the most important considerations to you? What is your budget? What is your timeline? We have found that careful consideration of these factors can make the difference between having a space you love versus one you just live with. Then we educate you on how we address the project process as a tailor-made experience for you, using a systematic approach that takes the guesswork out of the equation.
Once we capture your vision, we creatively incorporate our conversations into a Renovation Report, which clearly outlines the opportunities, options and initial Scope-of-Work description, along with a starting budget range to use as a guideline.
Once we develop the Scope of Work mentioned in Getting Started, we begin to develop Conceptual Designs to assist in describing the potential home in a graphic nature, using plans, elevations and 3-D graphics. The description of the home is overlaid with the site and a visit to "kick dirt" with you is a must. We then can develop an accurate understanding of the unique nature of your site.
Once appropriate time is spent in Design, the Build Phase is quite easy and stress free. By paying close attention to the construction details including interior finishes, we clearly describe the project and understand not only the fit & finish, but also the budget and building logistics. We schedule and share with you all the components and decisions we have developed together to allow for a smooth building cycle, creating on time and on budget projects.
Using online technology we share a unique web portal with you so that all our associate Team members can access, update, track, comment & manage the project together. This allows us to continually collaborate and date the project without a mountain of paperwork. Since our Team is 'in house' we can accurately identify and schedule the construction of your home. This allows us to confidently build your custom home, literally anywhere your heart desires.
As a licensed residential builder, My House Design/Build/Team offers the full 2/5/10 warranty commitment for custom homes as well as an equivalent program for all renovations. With seasonal maintenance reminders, online warranty program documents and reporting along with annual inspections, we ensure that your home continues to meet your needs for years to come.
Upon final inspection and approval, your renovation is complete and ready for move in. Any deficiencies are noted and dealt with in a prompt manner. Warranties for purchased goods are submitted and a "My House Manual" containing care and up keep is provided. Furthermore, My House schedules a follow-up in with in 90 days to ensure everything is in order and again one year later. Our documented materials and building practice standards ensure that everything is done correctly the first time. At My House, completion means that we all agree that the work is finished.

Warranty insurance includes the following coverage:-
• 2 years’ coverage on labour and materials as follows:
• 12 months coverage for defects in material and labour for your home
• 24 months’ coverage for defects in material and labour for major systems (heating, electrical, plumbing, etc)
• 5 years’ coverage on the building envelope, including coverage on unintended water penetration
• 10 years’ coverage on major structural item
• This statutory protection is widely recognized as one of the strongest and most effective home warranty standards in Canada.

Part of a home renovation, improvement or custom home project is the collecting of all your ideas into one place. Over the years - and even today, a popular way to do this is by scrapbooking your ideas. Put your likes and dislikes into one big "idea-book" for your project. We recommend this process as it helps to discuss your project with our designers, in a very visual way.
The new version of scrapbooking can be done online with Houzz. Their website contains a huge searchable library of images that lets you create your own virtual scrapbook. In fact they call these collections "ideabooks".
Follow these easy steps to get your virtual scrapbook underway.
STEP 2 - Create an account - Its easy! FIll in your email address, a username and password and click "Sign-In" OR do the same through your Faceboook account.
STEP 3 - Start to browse for ideas. There are thousands of images to choose from. You can search by specific topics or items or just browse their subject categories.
STEP 4 - Add to your IdeaBook. When you find a photo you like - click "Add to ideabook". Make some notes about what you like about the image. Don't forget to add things you don't like - that will help you to direct us away from those kinds of ideas.
STEP 5 - Share your Ideabook name with your My House team members to begin the conversation about what your project might look like.
STEP 6 - Your Houzz Ideabook is your project Scrapbook. It can include details like faucets, paint colours, doorway trim etc. OR it can be architectural and interior design styles. Everything is important for us to know. The more the better! Houzz lets you view a slideshow of images on your computer, ipad, or smartphone.
STEP 7 - Visit the My House Design/Build/Team ideabook page to visit all our Houzz postings. That's an easy way to show us things we've done that you may like. Simply add these images to your IdeaBooks.
