Graeme

Founder & General Manager

If you had told Graeme Huguet that he’d be in the construction business 30 years ago, he might have laughed at you.

Born in Burnaby and majoring in acting, design, directing, business, and fine arts, from a young age Graeme has always had a creative “make things happen” approach to life.

The segue way into construction came from designing for theatre and television granted an opportunity to design in “real life”. He then saw a need within the industry to create a more holistic design and build client first approach that did things above and beyond what was expected. It was in this creative and non conventional approach that My House Design/Build Team was formed.

Business Manager

Meet Shawna, Our Remarkable Business Manager! With a lifelong immersion in construction inspired by her carpenter father, Shawna embarked on her journey with us in 2002. Throughout the years, she’s seamlessly transitioned between various roles, contributing extensively to every facet of our operations. Certified in Financial Management, Business Management, and Human Resources, Shawna’s expertise enriches our team dynamics, accompanied by her ever-present warm demeanour. We’re privileged to have her as an integral part of our team!

With a distinguished list of credentials including PMP, LEED AP, and a Ph.D., Eric’s 25-year tenure in the industry positions him as a highly respected authority, both within our team and among our clientele.

Meet Liz, Our Marketing Manager! Originally from Vancouver Island, Liz has cultivated a wealth of experience in the UK’s Fashion and Beauty industry throughout her adult life. Returning to Canada in 2021, she now channels her expertise into the construction industry. With degrees in Fashion Design and Criminology, Liz embodies adaptability and brings a unique perspective to our team. We’re excited to have her talents driving our marketing efforts forward!

Despite all his accolades, Chris has a knack for effortlessly transforming tech jargon into a language that feels like a friendly conversation. We are so lucky to have him on our Team!

Meet Morgan, Our Esteemed Senior Interior Designer! With a lineage steeped in interior design and over a decade of industry experience, Morgan is a true veteran in her field. After graduating from Lakeland College in Vermillion, Alberta, she has amassed a multitude of accolades, including NCIDQ, DID, and a Certificate of Heritage Conservation from VHF. Her exceptional work at My House has earned her numerous awards, solidifying her status as a design maven. Morgan is a treasure to our team, and we’re beyond thrilled to have her expertise enriching our projects!

• What has been your favorite project to work on here ? – I LOVE Hertiage houses! Vancouver Reclaimed Character, and two homes we are currently working on, are my favourites. Any old house with character and a colourful past.
• If you could switch your job with anyone else within My House, whose job would you want to try? – Eric / Harry – I love space planning and learning the structural elements of a build
• What is your dream category on Jeopardy? – Architectural Antiques for 1000, please Alex
• If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be? – Cake – It’s a meal the way I do it. Don’t judge.
• What was your first job? – I was a “runner” for a Notary Public. I only lost a massive deposit cheque once. 
• Best thing about your job? – Every project is different, and I’m not a desk jockey all the time. Plus I can boss around the guys on site. They love it.
• Favorite movie of all time? – Labyrinth. I’m still 6. “You put so much as a toe in the bog of eternal stench, and you’ll smell bad for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. . .”
• Dream holiday destination? – I’m going for a train tour of the Scottish Highlands for Christmas this year! I love the UK. It will be my 4th visit.
