North Vancouver Coveside Gem – Kitchen
This North Vancouver renovation project turned a dark, outdated home in Deep Cove into a bright, modern coveside gem.
To create a more open floor plan, the bulky double doors between the formal dining space and living room were removed to facilitate a less cluttered flow. Also, the main staircase was kept in its original location but updated with frameless glass panels and stainless steel railings.
North Vancouver Kitchen Renovations
The kitchen and eating areas were originally separated by a large drywall support beam, counter height drywall wall, and split-level flooring heights. The beam and drywall were removed, and the floor levels evened to open up the space. The existing, track lighting above the kitchen table was replaced by a linen flush mount light. The peninsula between the eating and cooking areas features an under-mounted double sink with quartz counters and is lit by 3 bright pendant lights.
The previous, white, cookie-cutter kitchen cabinetry was replaced with floor to ceiling, custom-built cabinetry. The cabinets extend along the kitchen wall into the eating area and feature a built-in microwave, panelled fridge, and wine fridge. The same cabinetry style was also used to update the TV room, bathrooms, and home office spaces.
The Deep Cove neighbourhood of North Vancouver is a beautiful community for nature lovers who want to be close to the city. This North Vancouver renovation project brought new light and life to this home.
